South Africa Flags

The South African Flag, adopted on 27 April 1994, was created to replace the older flag to represent the new nations democracy. The flag design consits of horizontal bands of red (on the top) and blue (on the bottom), of equal proportions, separated firstly by white bands lining a thicker green band which splits into a horizontal "Y" shape. The Y is spilt by a black triangle that is lined by a thin narrow yellow border seperating the black and green.
